Memorial Day Parade

Our town has a parade on Memorial Day and Emily and I had the chance to ride our horses, Joy and Cheyenne in it this morning. Emily had been having trouble with Cheyenne's behavior lately, so we didn't know if we would be able to ride together. Thankfully, both horses were very good, and we had a great time!
Emily rode in the parade last year, but this was my first time and I'm happy to say that it was a good experience: one that I'd like to do again.

Daddy, Melody, Phoebe and Judah also walked a few of our dogs in the parade. Courage and Bonnie are two of our family's favorites!
Melody's feet got tired after walking about 2/3 of the way, so she hitched a ride on Daddy's shoulders for the rest of it! (the view is much better up there anyway;o)

We all woke up early this morning to groom the horses before we took them into town. I don't think that they ever got so much attention at one time before today!

I hope that you enjoyed this little peek into our morning! The pictures aren't the greatest quality, but it really doesn't matter; the fun and memories that we are making is what is most important!

Remember to thank God not only for the freedoms that he has allowed us to have in this country, but also for the freedom that is ours in him because of what Jesus did on Calvary!

-Jill (for all 15 of the Smithies!!!)
